India budget 2011-2012

Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee on Monday presented to Parliament India's budget for the coming financial year beginning in April.

2011 ICC World Cup kicks off today

ICC World Cup kicks off with grand opening ceremony in Dhaka

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 kicked off on Thursday with a grand opening ceremony at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.

Indian music composer trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, who have composed the official song for the World Cup, and playback singer Sonu Nigam are slated to enthrall the audience with their performances. Singer Runa Laila of Dama Dam Mast Kalandar fame and pop singer Mila will add a local touch to the extravaganza.

But the highlight of the show will be a performance by legendary Canadian singer Bryan Adams.

The organisers have also promised a spectacular fireworks and laser show at the end of the programme.
